Help!! Candidiasis! I keep getting recurrent yeast infections. I’ve been getting these for years but? I am stressed out by my new job and full time load at college, I get little rest. Also, I believe that it’s passed to my boyfriend because whenever we are intimate, it returns.
The doctor says it is definitely candida. How do I go about getting him treatment without him thinking I’ve given him an STD? I’m using herbs right now and they are working.

Question about Candidiasis? This is a bit embarrassing…but, can anyone share solid information about candidiasis…not just a vaginal yeast infection, but the whole body type. I have done extensive reading and some of it can scare the padoody out of you….so many of the articles discussing this condition somewhere in the information mention HIV/AIDS>….has anyone been diagnosed with candidiasis and followed through with an effective treatment plan that worked…If so please share.

I’m a 25-year-old male. I’m been prescribed penicillin, 300mg po 3/d, to clear up a bacterial throat infection.
I’m worried about contracting oral candidiasis during treatment as it’s happened before when I’ve been on antibiotics.
Is strong ethyl alcohol (either the drinking sort, or an alcohol-based mouthwash like Listerine), just swished around the mouth, a way to prevent this? I know that candidiasis is caused by a yeast, and that most yeast can’t survive concentrated alcohol (why wine tops out at 12-14%).
Most medical sites recommend abstaining from alcohol with (or to prevent) thrush. I imagine this is because when imbibed it breaks down easily into sugars that only feed the problem? And if I don’t actually metabolize (i.e. drink), it’s really the best protection I can get without another prescription or an OTC antifungal… right?
I’m looking for a semi-professional opinion as I’ve done as much research as an amateur hack like me can do.
P.S. probiotic food (yogourt, etc). is the common solution, and is already on the list as soon as I can go get some.

How can I get treatment for systemic yeast or candida? I believe that a have a systemic yeast problem, which I really want to get sorted out. I have nutritional supplements and follow an anti-candida diet but i’ve heard that you really need nystatin to completely rid yourself of the yeast problem.
But doctors don’t believe in candidiasis, so how can I get a prescription for nystatin? Has anyone tried any of the yeast diets with success?
